The The Millennium Development Goals Report 2014 was launched in New York by the Secretary-General on 7 July 2014. The report presents the latest assessment of global and regional progress towards the MDGs. The report shows that significant progress has been made across all goals and millions of lives have been saved. Yet, much more effort is needed in many areas. Continued progress towards the MDGs in the remaining year is essential in order to provide a solid foundation for the post-2015 development agenda.
The report is based on a set of comprehensive official statistics compiled by the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on MDG indicators led by the Statistics Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
The report is available in all UN languages.
