The International Recommendations for Tourism Statistics 2008 Compilation Guide was prepared by the Statistics and Tourism Satellite Account Programme of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) together with the UNWTO Committee on Statistics and the Tourism Satellite Account. The Guide has benefited strongly from the input provided by experts since 2009, particularly at the Expert Group meeting in Rio de Janeiro in May 2011, and from comments received from the UNWTO online consultation during 2013. This publication also benefited from close collaboration with various international and regional organizations and, in particular, from the contributions of the United Nations Statisticis Division (UNSD) and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
