10.55.        Compilers could make use of such other external party sources as a company’s ffinancial statements, chamber of commerce reports, investment promotion agency records, business association records, surveys conducted by other organizations, private databases, online search engines and travel booking sites and data compiled by trading partners. In particular, studies and research publications of public or private institutions that include relevant statistical information can be resource- and cost-effective sources. Ministries may also conduct special studies on industries that they supervise. Moreover, industry trade associations may publish research studies on the performance of the industry, particularly in international markets, as a means of promotion.  Such data sources could be useful for compilers as a means of identifying enterprises involved in international transactions, as well as for updating the names and characteristics of businesses in the SBR, validating survey results and filling data gaps.
