Submission Checklist

Upon completion of the UN Datathon, you need to make sure your final submission contains the following items:

  • Presentation or StoryMap of your project
  • Video link
  • GitHub Repository with your code, including any model weights if providing machine learning or deep learning models. 
  • Any other links (e.g. html, dashboard...)

Make sure your solution is in line with the UN Datathon Theme and also contains a Geospatial component.


Submission Survey

You must fill out a submission survey once you complete the Datathon. These are the items you will need to fill out:

  • Final team name - this will appear on the final certificate of participation as well as potential awards
  • Final information about each team member - you will need to specify each team member's full name and email to confirm their participation in the Datathon. Only the team members who fill this out will receive certificates of participation

  • Project Title - in one sentence, describe your Datathon project

  • Project Summary/Problem Statement - in a few lines, summarize the idea(s) you worked on during the Datathon. This will serve as an abstract that the jury will read to understand what you have been working on

  • Include links to all the items in the Submission Checklist (see above)

    • Presentation/StoryMap

    • Video

    • GitHub repo

  • Is there additional material you would like to share with us?

  • Any comments?

For your submission to be valid, you must modify the full names of each team member as provided to the UN Datathon organizing team.  

All materials submitted, including code, model weights, story maps, and videos, must include clear notices that the MIT license applies to the specific submission element and reproduce the text therein.

How to

Create a text file (typically named LICENSE, LICENSE.md or LICENSE.txt) in the root of your source code and copy the text of the license into the file. Replace [year] with the current year and [fullname] with the name (or names) of the copyright holders.

Optional steps

Add MIT to your project’s package description, if applicable. This will ensure the license is displayed in package directories.
